3. St. Peter School has been able to offer "Level 1" of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS for short) program on Tuesday mornings during the school year to our students in 4K through 1st grade. CGS is an approach to the religious formation of children. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an "atrium," a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use. Our St. Peter atrium is located in the church basement. If you are interested in hearing more about CGS or in getting involved as either a Catechist or an Atrium Assistant, please email Michelle at You could also take a look at the diocesan website that includes an overview of CGS as well as a list of training opportunities that will be coming soon ( We would love to have you join the St. Peter team, so thank you for considering!
