Divine Mercy Sunday and Parish Updates 04.17.2020

Happy Easter!  As we round out the octave of Easter, we have a few reminders and some news to share with you all.

First, this Sunday, April 19th, is Divine Mercy Sunday. Please see the schedule for opportunities at the parish and on our live stream. Here are other resources regarding the divine mercy devotion and how to obtain an indulgence: https://www.thedivinemercy.org/articles/what-do-divine-mercy-sunday https://d2y1pz2y630308.cloudfront.net/14385/documents/2020/3/Decree%20Granting%20Permission%20Obtain%20Indulgences%20Outside%20Ordinary%20Conditions%20200320.pdf

Masses will still be celebrated at the regular times and broadcast on our live stream internet video feed at www.ashtoncatholic.org/live-stream. All St. Martin’s masses will be held at St. Peter. Resources and ideas for keeping Sunday Holy from the Diocese of Madison can be found at: https://madisondiocese.org/prayathome Mass intentions will still be offered as scheduled. To order a Mass intention, call the parish office or mail in a note with the individual's name and if they are living or deceased. Once we receive the request, we will contact you and let you know the date and time of the Mass. A donation can be mailed to the parish office and the standard donation is $10. Please indicate "mass intention" in the memo line of the check.  Confessions are available at the following times: Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm Thursday from 9 to 10 am Friday from 3 to 4 pm Saturday from 3:30 to 4:15pm Anytime by appointment For Confessions, you should come and go promptly, and be sure to keep a safe distance of 6 feet from any other person. Fr. Chris

will be in the confessional on the right side of the church as usual. If you have a special need for accessibility or want to schedule an individual confession, please call Father Chris directly at (608) 561-7234.  All meetings and other parish functions are cancelled or postponed until further notice. There will not be a bulletin until we resume Sunday Masses. Scrip is still available for purchase in the parish office. Please contact the parish ahead of time to ensure that we can fill the order and to arrange a time to pick it up. Thank you for supporting our school with the Scrip Program! Please check in on your neighbors, especially the sick, elderly, and those who have compromised health. We are called to love God and love our neighbor. If you know of anyone in need, please contact the parish at (608) 831-4843 and we’ll have one of our many generous parishioners reach out to assist with essential errands or other needs. I am most grateful for everyone’s sacrifices and offers of assistance. Thank you so much!

Lastly, decreased Mass attendance and the last two fish fries being cancelled, is already having – and will continue to have – a serious impact on parish income. Unfortunately, our expenses do not significantly decrease. Some parishioners are also having their income affected by the restrictions currently in place because of the Coronavirus. They are facing challenges of their own, and it's entirely understandable that their parish support will decrease accordingly. But those who able to continue supporting the parish are asked to do so even if they are unable to come to Mass. Offertory envelopes can be mailed to the parish office. Alternatively, the link below can be used to make online contributions with a credit or debit card. Go to: https://www.ashtoncatholic.org/donate  Anything you can do to help support your parish would be deeply appreciated!  Thank you and God bless you!
