Confirmation

Confirmation, sometimes considered the "Sacrament of Evangelization," is the Sacrament where the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ (USCCB). The Sacrament of Confirmation, like all other sacraments, is rooted in Scripture, from the Old Testament to the new. Confirmation perfects and completes the grace of our Baptism. It is not the end of our faith formation as Catholics, but the call to a deeper understanding of the faith in order to become missionaries to this world.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is available to those who are baptized and at or above the age of reason. It is expected that those who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation are practicing the faith and obedient to the precepts of the Church. Please see a letter from Fr. Chris regarding Confirmation below.

Confirmation is held in the spring of each year. For more information or to register, contact faithformation@ashtoncatholic.org
